Frequently asked questions.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that uses hypnosis techniques to help people achieve a state of deep relaxation and increased focus. During hypnosis, the therapist can suggest positive changes in the individual's thinking, behaviour or emotions.
What is the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy?
Although hypnosis and hypnotherapy are words that are used rather interchangeably, the two words are not the same. Hypnosis is more a state of mind while hypnotherapy is the name of the therapeutic version in which hypnosis is used.
Hypnotherapy uses the power of the subconscious mind while talk therapy uses the conscious mind. Hypnosis is an inner state of focused absorption whereby the critical faculty of the conscious mind is bypassed allowing the unconscious to come to the fore so that selective thinking, suggestion, change and integration can take place. It is a safe and natural process in which the client retains control.
Is hypnotherapy effective via zoom?
Contrary to popular myth, hypnosis does not require deep-trance or in-person contact to be effective, it can be induced through conversation alone and therefore well suited to the online environment. Once you are connected to your unconscious, your inner world your environment is peripheral, therefore whether online or in person, the results are the equal.
What does a hypnotherapy session look like?
Hypnosis usually is done with the guidance of a hypnotherapist using verbal repetition and mental images. During hypnosis, most people feel calm and relaxed. Hypnosis typically makes people more open to suggestions about behavior.
I use hypnotherapy to connect you with your unconscious mind. During hypnosis you are in a relaxed state of focused absorption, whereby the conscious rational mind is bypassed, allowing the unconscious mind, to come to the fore. It is a completely safe and natural process, where you retain control. In fact you gain control.
How does hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy creates a dialogue with the subconscious mind, allowing you to diffuse destructive imprints and create new neural programmed, patterns and pathways forward. Through hypnotherapy we can excavate, discover, integrate and renew from a place of awareness and control. It is where we can identify and diffuse the root of our pain, embed new patterns and pathways, update language and narratives to bring the conscious and unconscious into alignment -functioning as a whole. Once connected to the unconscious, it is able to reveal the genesis of the issue to you, enabling us to diffuse imprints, unpick patterns and negative programs that have proven destructive - giving clearance to new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.
Hypnotherapy can help you change attitudes, perceptions, habits and behaviors.

Do you talk during hypnotherapy?
The short answer is yes. Some hypnotherapy sessions are all about you enjoying an inner experience and you may not feel the need to talk. In others your hypnotherapist may ask you questions about what you're experiencing. This will help your hypnotherapist guides you to the solutions you need.
What is the difference between a hypnotist and a hypnotherapist?
Where a hypnotist might give suggestions to the subconscious mind, a hypnotherapist uses more powerful and more advanced techniques to make change which can be much longer lasting. A hypnotherapist uses transformational modalities which not only talk to the conscious mind, but rather talk with the subconscious mind.
What happens to the brain during hypnotherapy?
During hypnosis, your brain produces fewer beta waves, which can help you feel calmer and more relaxed. Hypnosis stimulates the brain by decreasing the beta brain waves and increasing alpha brain waves.
How is hypnotherapy different from normal therapy?
Hypnotherapy uses the power of the subconscious mind while talk therapy uses the conscious mind. Talking is at the core of traditional talk therapy, just as the name implies.
What are the limits of hypnotherapy?
While under hypnosis, individuals may be more open to suggestion, but they cannot be forced to do anything against their will or moral code. Resistance to hypnosis can vary from person to person, and some individuals may be more resistant to hypnosis than others.
What the major clients concerns and how to address them with hypnotherapy?
